Daniel Denton says...

Henry Paul have now looked after three of my grandparents and most recently my Grandfather. From the moment you begin the journey with Henry Paul you are met with attentive, empathetic and understanding staff, helping to make this difficult time that little bit easier. Even during COVID, in challenging circumstances, they went above and beyond to make sure my grandfather and our family were looked after. Millie, Connor and all the team at Henry Paul are excellent and we’re so lucky to have such a brilliant and professional family run business close to home

Brilliant throughout. It is never a situation you want to find yourself in, however Henry Paul made things so much easier. Everyone we dealt with were understanding and approachable with everything we needed, there was a call the morning of the funeral to ensure they had everything correct before leaving and they made sure the day was complete without any issues. Great Service and great people! Thank you

Henry Paul were courteous and professional. It is clear from their website that they provide a very traditional service.

However, they were not clear about the funeral process or the costs. They have no written guides to help the bereaved family know what to do or expect. They sent two letters - estimate bill then final bill.
I needed to email to them a long list of my understandings that my wife noted during the initial meeting. And then call them 2 days later to ask if they received the mail and to reply with any corrections - which proved very important.
They almost forgot to send the link to upload photos to display at the funeral, leaving me with only a few hours to complete - and even this communication failed to mention the cost of using this service (i thought it would be free).
Nor did they mention the cost of the obituary notice.

We asked for the ashes to be divided into separate scatter tubes, but as we did not collect them on a date that they thought we had agreed (we do not recall agreeing to any such) they then returned the ashes to the standard plastic jar.

So while I cannot fault the service provided on the day, the administrative and transparency of their service was not good for us.

Henry Paul organised my father's funeral today and I can only highly praise their service. They have been thoughtful and courteous throughout this difficult period and conducted themselves with utmost professionalism at the funeral.
