I would have no hesitation in recommending this firm of Funeral Directors. Always a difficult time when a family member dies but Simon, Kim and the team ensure everything is handled in a clam, friendly yet professional manner. Cannot fault the service we received and the day of the funreal ran like clockwork.

Thank you for the recent arrangements which you undertook for the funeral of my husband. Everything was carried out superbly. We couldn't fault you on anything. Even the florist you recommended was excellent. It is a very upsetting time but you helped us so much to cope. Nothing was too much trouble and the service you gave was outstanding.

I cannot fault the service offered buy this Funeral company.
There's a lot to sort out when someone dies but fortunately Kim guided us through the whole process. They willingly organised everything they could and put me in touch with a great celebrant.
All contact both face to face email and phone were carried out with sensitivity and kindness.
The team who came to the crematorium were equally nice and professional.
At no time did they get me to spend more than I needed to. I would highly recommend this company.

My mother died almost 5 years ago and I took over the funeral arrangements, having no idea what to expect or how to go about it. Having just watched a Tonight programme about cost of funerals, I wanted to express my huge thanks to DJ Hall for the incredible service they offered me and my family. From the moment I entered the office, which was homely and friendly, I was guided through the organisation of the funeral with compassion, clarity and transparency. I cannot thank the team enough for helping me to cope at a most difficult time. I have learned from the experience and feel equipped to cope with the experience in the future, should I need to. I was busy dealing with my bereaved father after the funeral and so never thought to look to complete an online review, although I did express my huge thanks at the time!

Dear Kim and Simon

I am really grateful to you for your kindness and professionalism with
regard to my mother's funeral and Service of Celebration on Tuesday.
Although it was a sad day for so many members of the family and Mum's
friends, it also was a special day with happy memories. I think she
would have been delighted that so many attended the Minster.

I hadn't been to the Sherwood Forest Crematorium before, and we felt it
was the right place for us to be, and Jacqui Jones' short service was
perfect. Thank you very much for organising the bird song and music for
us, and for taking the flowers to the Quire after the service. The
weather was right too, so we were able to have a family gathering in the
garden before driving back to Southwell.

Thank you again for all the help and advice you gave us.

Simon and Kim have just organized my husband's funeral! They were kind, thoughtful and extremely sensitive! I had an idea of the kind of service I wanted for him and they helped me with keeping to this! Simon, his staff and his business, is immaculately presented. On the day of the funeral, they were so kind and gave me such a lot of support and guided me gently to where I needed to be! Thank you guys!

David and I would like to thank you all so much for organising my sister Karen Woodward's funeral service. We felt you lifted the whole process from our shoulders and made it as perfect and as stress-free as it possibly could be.... We are very grateful to all at David Halls for that. You delicately handled and guided us through what was a very traumatic time for me and my family with such skill, kindness and caring professionalism, and for this I shall forever be singing your praises.
It all ran so smoothly and nothing seemed a problem for you to either answer or organise for us.. thank you.
Kim, Rachel Gibson was amazing and I have already sent her a thank you letter. We had so many wonderful comments about her and the beautiful service and in particular the emotion she portrayed in her voice.
Please also thank all those working behind the scenes who helped make everything run so faultlessly and especially the handsomely turned out drivers and pall bearers who were very caring and attentive.
And on to the weather.... How did you manage to organise such an amazingly warm spring-like day for us and just at the right time!!

Thank you so much for making Karen's last journey so perfect.

From the first phone call enquiry to the last contact with Halls everyone was helpful, kind and professional. What could have been a very difficult time was made easier and less upsetting by the manner in which we were treated and the warmth and advice which we were given. The funeral service was lovely, everything went to plan and the flowers arranged through Halls were beautiful and lasted for two weeks on the local war memorial. A sad day was made lovely by efficient, courteous, respectful and warm support. We couldn't have been more pleased. A very particular thank you to Kim who was wonderful.

D J hall is a friendly undertakers Simon hall and his staff are very compassionate and there for you all the way throu simon did my mums funeral and right from the start they become a part of our family they looked after us and my mum 100% nothing was to much trouble for them they arranged everything for us that put myself and my dad ease DJ hall will defo be our family undertakers from now on and always apart of our family
