Jonathan and his team came into our lives the day after my husband of 68 years died in hospital-the night before he was due to come home. I was devastated.

Tom did come home for 24 hrs and I was able to visit their Chapel of Rest whenever I or family wanted. From day one their support was thoughtful in every way. Consideration of my every wish was taken into account.
The Funeral took place on Tom’s 92nd Birthday, December 18th 2014.It was a Celebration and Farewell beautifully organized and carried out.
Jonathan and his team were so very kind in every way and they have been a real support. Their guidance and care was invaluable and gentle at that difficult time.

From first contact to the delivery of the funeral DVD, Jonathan and Ian were continually supportive. I had discussed with my mother her wishes for the style of funeral and initially spoke to Jonathan just after Christmas when it seemed Mum would die any day. In the end, she died in June but there was never any sense of me being a nuisance and having sorted out many of the details in advance was a big advantage when the time came, even though some things inevitably had to change. What I particularly liked was that my choices were always respected and if I turned down one of their suggestions that was always fine.
As we were rather making up a secular funeral service from Mum’s wishes and my past experience, I was grateful for their help in making a very successful funeral which resulted in much positive feedback from attendees. There was no pushing to have options one didn’t want and there was always advice on how to achieve what I did want. The stunning cardboard coffin with a picture of St. Michael’s Mount was a major talking point and my Mum would have loved it.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Oak to anyone but especially to those who do not want a standard funeral.

From the initial meeting I felt a calmness and dignity which helped through a very traumatic and sudden death. I was never pressurised and was enabled to change my mind at various stages in the process when this became necessary.
This allowed for the creation of both a church and crematorium service which all members of friends and family who attended said was completely correct for the person they knew.
Throughout the process I was utterly grief stricken and this was always understood and accepted with an ability to try to help the living come to terms with the death.
I have found that Oak Funerals particularly believes in celebrating the person’s whole existence and not just the final part of life and positively encourages the families feel a part however much or little they feel they can do.
I did avail myself of enquiring of other undertakers where everything was just about cost, whereas Oak Funerals were totally about the human being involved and I heartily recommend them and their team to anyone.
Thank you for the gentle and caring manner in which you dealt with all of our family when Geoff passed away. Your openness to suggestions from family about arrangements while also making your own recommendations and suggestions was very much appreciated. You became a highly respected and trusted friend of the family during this difficult time.
